How do I import a GPX file?

Updated 2026-08-15

  1. Choose File › Import Routes.
  2. Pick your file.

You can also drop the file onto the app. TrailRunner Mini reads GPX, KML/KMZ, TCX and FIT. Files from a watch, another planner or a website all work.

What you import becomes a route. It lands in the Imported section of the sidebar, so you can find it again straight away. Tip: move it into a collection to keep it with the rest of a trip.

What comes across

A GPX file can carry three different kinds of point. They are not interchangeable. See routes, tracks, waypoints and landmarks for what each one means. Most files from watches and websites contain a recorded track. That track is the line you see after importing.
